Job Description

Small construction-based company located just south of downtown Los Angeles is looking for a Controller. In this predominantly hands-on role, the Controller will also oversee a small team. Main responsibilities for the Controller include ensuring efficient accounting processes, managing month/quarter/year-end closing, project accounting, revenue recognition (percentage-of-completion), WIP, project billing, job costing, financial reporting, statement consolidations, reconciliations, overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, and tax filings. Additional duties for the Controller include preparing and analyzing the fiscal budget, maintaining banking relationships, conducting investment accounting, treasury, strategic analysis, working with external and internal auditors, analyzing revenue as well as operating cost savings. The Controller will also collaborate with the rest of the management team regarding various business operations decision making initiatives.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • At least 8 years of experience with at least two years in a management or Controller capacity and good career tenure.
  • Must have construction or project-based (i.e., SaaS, billing, etc.) industry experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Must be systems savvy.
  • $130 - 160k.
