Controller

A respected manufacturing company is seeking a Controller to oversee accounting operations and provide financial leadership to the organization. This role will be responsible for financial reporting, team management, budgeting, cost accounting, compliance, and operational analysis.

The Controller will serve as a key member of the leadership team, providing financial insight that supports both daily operations and long-term business objectives.

Controller Responsibilities:

• Direct all accounting activities and oversee day-to-day financial operations
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff
• Ensure the timely and accurate completion of financial reporting requirements
• Maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures
• Provide financial guidance to leadership on business performance and operational initiatives
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Analyze financial results and communicate key business trends
• Develop reporting tools and metrics that improve visibility into company performance
• Support presentations and reporting for lenders, ownership, and executive leadership
• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes
• Oversee cost accounting activities and profitability analysis
• Monitor capital expenditures and fixed asset management
• Support inventory accounting and related operational controls
• Evaluate business opportunities through financial modeling and analysis
• Coordinate external audits and respond to auditor requests
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations
• Review accounting workflows and implement process improvements
• Evaluate systems, reporting capabilities, and process automation opportunities

The Successful Applicant:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA preferred
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Prior leadership experience within an accounting or finance function
• Manufacturing experience strongly preferred
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices
• Experience with ERP systems and financial management software
• Strong business acumen and analytical capabilities
• Proven ability to lead teams and influence decision-making
