Controller - South County - $30 million manufacturing company 

Essential Duties
  • Maintain financial records and ensure compliance with US GAAP
  • Review and approve key accounting transactions, including cash, payroll, and journal entries
  • Analyze job costing, department expenses, and variances to recommend corrective actions
  • Supervise and support accounting staff through training, coaching, and performance evaluations
  • Build KPIs and management dashboards
  • Own, improve and communicate job profitability and analysis
  • Support pricing strategy and quoting
  • Develop budgets, forecasts and cash flow models
  • Assist the executive team in translating numbers into business decisions
  • Create SOPs and documentation of all critical tasks and look for ways to automate and streamline



Qualifications
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum ten years of related experience, or equivalent education and experience
  • Manufacturing is critical – with experience working in job costing/project-based environments
  • Experience working for small to middle market organizations
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP including revenue recognition, inventory and overhead allocation
  • Demonstrated ability in financial reporting, variance analysis, budgeting, and financial analysis
  • Excellent executive presence and communication skills
  • Ability to coach and develop team, and work cross functionally with operations, sales and manufacturing
  • Strong ERP and project management skills
  • Must have a servant leadership mentality and a growth mindset – must possess a high level of accountability
