Description

Controller - Multi-Unit Restaurant Operations Full-time | Orlando, FL - Support Center | Reports to CFO

Hawkers Asian Street Food is a 15+ location, fast-casual concept with an aggressive growth roadmap and a finance team that punches above its weight. We're looking for a Controller who's done this before - someone who's closed the books on a complex multi-unit P&L, built a team, and knows that restaurant accounting isn't just accounting.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll own the full accounting function: the close, the reporting, the controls, the audit, and the people. You'll have real visibility into where the business is going and a seat at the table when it matters. We run on Restaurant365. Experience with R365 (or a comparable multi-unit ERP) will make you effective here from day one.

Requirements

What You'll Own
  • Lead all accounting operations - general ledger, cash management, AP, bank reconciliations, and daily cash activity across all locations
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for 15+ restaurant P&Ls, driving accuracy and a faster close cadence as we scale
  • Produce timely financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and location-level reporting that operations and leadership actually use
  • Maintain GAAP compliance, internal controls, and company accounting policies - and continuously improve them
  • Lead the annual audit with external auditors and coordinate tax return preparation with advisors
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax filing and reporting requirements
  • Build, mentor, and develop the accounting team - set clear goals, give real feedback, and invest in their growth
  • Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Support ad hoc analysis and special projects as the business evolves

What We're Looking For
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership in a multi-unit or high-volume environment
  • Background in restaurant, hospitality, multi-unit retail, or franchise operations - you understand unit-level economics and what drives them
  • CPA preferred but not required for the right candidate
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Strong command of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Proficiency in Restaurant365 (strongly preferred) or comparable ERP; advanced Excel
  • A communicator who can translate financial complexity for operators, not just other accountants
  • Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and calm under the pressure of close wee
