Controller

Controller Position

Seeking a hands-on Controller to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, cost accounting, and cash management for a growing organization. This role partners closely with leadership to support business strategy, operational efficiency, and overall financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Prepare and review financial statements and reporting packages
• Oversee general ledger activity, reconciliations, and financial accuracy
• Analyze financial results, trends, and variances for leadership
• Lead cost accounting functions including standard costing, margin analysis, and manufacturing reporting
• Monitor cash flow, banking activity, and daily financial transactions
• Oversee accounts receivable, invoicing, credit management, and vendor expense activity
• Coordinate sales reporting, commission calculations, and bonus reporting
• Partner with external CPA firm on tax filings and compliance requirements
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Maintain and improve accounting systems, controls, and operational processes
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff while supporting team development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of accounting leadership experience
• Strong background in financial reporting and cost accounting
• Experience within manufacturing or industrial environments preferred
• ERP system experience required; Sage experience is a plus
• Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills

• Manufacturing industry experience
• Experience supporting ESOP environments is a plus
