Controller – Alternative Investment Firm
$180K–$200K Base + 25% Bonus | Hybrid (North Miami)

A growing alternative investment firm with approximately $4B in AUM is seeking an experienced Controller to join its expanding finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside new executive leadership during a period of transformation, helping build and modernize the firm's accounting and finance function within a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.

The firm invests primarily in private equity, with a strong focus on technology and software companies, while also managing credit strategies across multiple investment vehicles. With a lean finance team, this role offers broad exposure and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact as the organization continues to evolve.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee fund and management company accounting across multiple investment vehicles and related entities

• Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including financial reporting and reconciliations

• Support fund operations, capital activity, investor reporting, and financial statement preparation

• Partner closely with senior leadership to enhance accounting processes, internal controls, and operational efficiencies

• Coordinate with external auditors, administrators, and tax advisors

• Assist with special projects and strategic initiatives as the finance organization continues to grow and evolve

Qualifications:

• 7–15+ years of accounting experience within alternative investments

• Strong fund accounting background required; private equity experience preferred, with credit or hedge fund experience also considered

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred

• Experience supporting multiple funds and related legal entities

• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a hands-on approach

• Strong technical accounting knowledge and excellent communication skills
