Creative Financial Staffing (CFS) is partnering with a well-established organization in the construction industry to identify an experienced Controller. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an accounting professional with strong construction industry experience who can oversee the full accounting function while partnering closely with senior leadership.

Controller Responsibilities

• 
  
• Lead the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• 
  
• Oversee construction accounting, including WIP reporting, job costing, percentage-of-completion accounting, and project profitability
• 
  
• Manage cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• 
  
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and payroll functions
• 
  
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
• 
  
• Coordinate annual audit, tax filings, and relationships with outside accounting partners
• 
  
• Partner with project management and operations to monitor job performance, costs, and margins
• 
  
• Provide financial reporting and analysis to leadership to support strategic decision-making
• 
  

Controller Qualifications

• 
  
• Construction industry experience is required
• 
  
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 
  
• Strong understanding of construction accounting, WIP, job costing, and project-based financial reporting
• 
  
• Previous experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar accounting leadership position
• 
  
• Strong general accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting experience
• 
  
• Ability to work effectively with both accounting and operational teams
• 
  
• Hands-on leadership style with strong communication and problem-solving skills
•
