A bit about us:

We are seeking a dynamic and seasoned Controller to join our growing team in the Manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all facets of our accounting operations, including control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures. This role will also entail developing and implementing financial strategies, preparing monthly financial reports, and ensuring the company's financial commitments are met. The successful candidate will be a strategic individual with 5+ years of managerial accounting and financial management experience.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.
3. Regularly produce financial reports or statements, including cash flow analysis.
4. Coordinate all audit activity.
5. Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner, clearly communicating monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
6. Monitor progress and changes, keeping senior leadership abreast of the organization’s financial status.
7. Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with the executive leadership team.
8. Continually improve the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting department budgets.
9. Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization.
10. Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
11. Ensure that record-keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
12. Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization, including organizational revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, reports to funding agencies, development and monitoring of organizational and contract/grant budgets.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification preferred.
3. Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least three years in a managerial role.
4. Experience in the construction industry is highly desirable.
5. Proven expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, strategic planning, and budgeting.
6. Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
7. Experience with financial and accounting reporting systems.
8. Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software.
9. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
10. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
11. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
12. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
