We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Controller to join our dynamic Accounting and Finance team. This position plays a pivotal role in the financial management of our company, ensuring the integrity of accounting information, leading the preparation of financial reports, and making sure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with a keen eye for accuracy and a deep understanding of financial regulations and legislation.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

As a Controller, you will be responsible for:

1. Overseeing the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
2. Leading the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
3. Managing the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, and cost accounting.
4. Coordinating the preparation of the corporate annual report, ensuring it complies with regulations and standards.
5. Managing the company's cash flow, ensuring its financial security.
6. Developing and managing financial systems/models, as well as working with management to develop annual budgets and forecasts.
7. Ensuring the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting.
8. Liaising with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
9. Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
10. Contributing to decisions regarding financial strategy.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An MBA, CPA, or similar qualification is highly desirable.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
3. Proven experience with financial statements, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process.
4. Solid experience in risk management, along with a deep understanding of business principles and practices.
5. Superior attention to detail; organizational and planning skills; analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP.
7. Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Excel.
8. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
9. The ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and multitask.
10. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
