About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Controller to join our consulting team as a full-time, permanent hire in Oklahoma City. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven accounting leader who thrives on problem-solving, guiding businesses, and building strong financial foundations.

You will kick off in a hands-on Controller role with one of our clients, an established trucking and logistics company in the OKC area. The client's accounting function is in need of a full cleanup, and you'll step in to stabilize operations, build out new processes and controls, and potentially assess whether their current ERP (Great Plains) still fits the business long-term. Once that engagement concludes, you'll continue on as a permanent member of the NOW CFO consulting team, supporting a variety of clients across the OKC market.

What You'll Do

• Lead and oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, GL, and payroll
• Manage key accounting functions such as job costing, WIP, inventory, and revenue recognition
• Establish and maintain internal controls, budgets, and performance metrics
• Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting
• Own the month-end and year-end close processes
• Standardize systems and processes to drive efficiency
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Partner with client leadership to guide financial decision-making
• Mentor and develop accounting staff
• Support ERP assessments, cleanup projects, and process improvement initiatives
• Champion positive change and continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and full-cycle accounting
• Controller-level experience or comparable accounting leadership background
• Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) experience (required for the initial engagement)
• Proven track record of stepping into disorganized environments and building process, structure, and controls from the ground up
• Ability to lead a team while still rolling up your sleeves on detailed accounting work
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

• Trucking, logistics, or transportation industry experience
• Multi-entity or multi-location accounting experience
• ERP implementation or system assessment experience
