Controller On-site in North Orange County - $100 million manufacturer and distributor - $175-200k plus bonus
Position Summary
Lead and manage core financial operations, including oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, and day-to-day activities. Partner with Finance and cross-functional teams to support annual operating plan and forecasting processes, including data validation, variance analysis, and ensuring alignment between financial performance and organizational objectives.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee accounting operations including general ledger activities, journal entries, and the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and roll forwards.
Ensure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across departments.
Provide ongoing oversight of key accounting functions, including AP, AR, inventory, payroll, and international operations, driving continuous efficiencies and ensuring accuracy and strong internal controls.
Prepare and deliver financial reporting packages for senior management, including variance analysis and insights into key business drivers.
Contribute to the ongoing development, enhancement, and documentation of accounting policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
Assist in managing external relationships with external auditors, banking personnel, and other relevant parties.
Assist in creation of annual operating plan.
Partner with senior leaders, including the Senior Director of Finance, on key projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance, or a Bachelors Degree in business with an emphasis in accounting, required.
A CPA and/or MBA is preferred.
Minimum of 10+ years in a progressively responsible financial leadership position.
Prior experience in manufacturing, distribution or other business with inventories is highly desirable.
Successful candidate will have exceptional analytical and abstract reasoning skills, excellent organizational skills and will be process oriented.
Must be skilled at interpersonal communication, have proven leadership skills and be a self-starter.
A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with a high level of expertise in Excel, is required.
Experience supporting ERP implementation initiatives is preferred.
