Overview

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a large, well-established nonprofit organization providing behavioral health, special education, and social services across the Greater Philadelphia region. This organization offers a mission-driven environment focused on supporting individuals and families through a wide continuum of care.

The Controller will oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance functions. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data while supporting leadership with strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, and payroll-related journal entries

Analyze and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Support audit processes, tax filings, and ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and funding requirements

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning in partnership with the CFO

Strengthen internal controls and financial reporting processes

Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and risk management practices

Lead and develop accounting staff, including hiring, training, and performance management

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting required

Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (10+ years preferred)

Prior nonprofit experience required, ideally within behavioral health, healthcare, or social services

Strong knowledge of financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls

Work Environment

Hybrid schedule with a minimum of 2 days onsite

Additional onsite presence may be required during audits or key initiatives
