Controller – Nonprofit

Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations of a mission-driven nonprofit organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who understands the unique needs of nonprofit finance and enjoys partnering with leadership to support organizational growth and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  
• Lead day-to-day accounting operations and oversee the month-end and year-end close processes
• 
  
• Manage general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and cash management
• 
  
• Prepare and present financial statements and reports to senior leadership and the Board
• 
  
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• 
  
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
• 
  
• Support annual audits, tax filings, and other external reporting
• 
  
• Develop and improve accounting processes, controls, and procedures
• 
  
• Lead and develop the accounting team
• 
  

Qualifications

• 
  
• Nonprofit accounting experience is required
• 
  
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 
  
• Controller or senior-level accounting leadership experience
• 
  
• Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting and financial reporting
• 
  
• Experience with budgeting, audits, and internal controls
•
