A well-established private investment office is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee accounting, financial planning, budgeting, and treasury activities across a sophisticated investment and operating structure. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for an experienced CPA who enjoys working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment with exposure to private investments, trusts, corporate entities, and charitable organizations.
This position requires four days per week in the office.
Lead all accounting, accounts payable, budgeting, and FP&A activities across multiple entities.
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting while ensuring accurate books and records.
Develop and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes.
Manage corporate budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting.
Oversee cash management, treasury activities, bank reconciliations, and financing initiatives.
Manage budgeting and cash planning for private equity and venture capital investments, including capital call forecasting.
Oversee accounting, budgeting, and financial planning for affiliated charitable organizations.
Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, legal counsel, and other professional service providers.
Ensure compliance with tax filings, 1099 reporting, retirement plan administration, and other regulatory requirements.
Partner closely with senior leadership on strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and special projects.
Supervise and mentor a small accounting team while collaborating across multiple business functions.
CPA required.
10–20 years of professional accounting and finance experience.
Strong understanding of corporate accounting, trusts, partnerships, nonprofit organizations, and related tax considerations.
Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A processes.
Excellent knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with accounting and financial software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, and Microsoft Office applications.
