Job Details

Position Overview

The Controller will oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls while helping the organization scale efficiently. This individual will bring a strong foundation in GAAP, SaaS revenue recognition, process improvement, and team leadership. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable operating strategically and rolling up their sleeves in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of the accounting function, including general ledger, month-end close, AP/AR, payroll, and financial reporting
Manage the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
Oversee SaaS revenue recognition and ensure compliance with ASC 606
Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and scalable financial processes
Partner with FP&A and executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial initiatives
Support audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance requirements
Drive systems optimization and automation initiatives to improve efficiency and scalability
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing accounting team
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, legal, HR, and executive stakeholders
Assist with board reporting, investor requests, and potential fundraising or transaction activities

Qualifications
Active CPA required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; public accounting background strongly preferred
8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership experience within high-growth SaaS or technology companies
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606)
Experience building and scaling accounting processes in a fast-paced growth environment
Proven ability to lead teams and improve operational efficiency
Experience with ERP systems and financial automation tools
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a dynamic environment
Preferred Background
Combination of Big 4/public accounting and venture-backed technology company experience
Experience supporting rapid scaling, fundraising, M&A, or international expansion
Prior experience in marketplace, platform, or workforce technology businesses is a plus
