Our client is entering a significant growth phase with plans to nearly double revenue over the next several years through both organic expansion and strategic acquisitions. They need a Controller who can bring structure, leadership, and financial discipline to support that journey.

You'll become a key financial leader responsible for strengthening accounting operations, improving internal controls, supporting banking relationships, monitoring cash flow, and helping leadership make informed decisions as the business scales.

Our client is a privately held architecture and engineering consulting firm serving infrastructure, government, land development, and large-scale project markets. The organization operates with a collaborative, partner-led leadership structure and a hybrid work environment.

In this role, you will…

  • Lead all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, project accounting, revenue recognition, and financial reporting
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes while ensuring compliance with GAAP and reporting requirements
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, collections oversight, and banking covenant reporting
  • Develop and strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and scalable financial processes to support future growth
  • Partner with ownership and leadership teams to support budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and strategic decision-making
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, including project accountants, accounting staff, and operational accounting personnel
  • Coordinate audits, tax compliance activities, lender reporting requirements, and financial due diligence initiatives as the company grows

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statement preparation, and month-end close processes
  • Proven experience managing cash flow, financial reporting, and operational accounting functions
  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis capabilities
  • Ability to operate effectively within a growing, entrepreneurial organization

What's In It For You

  • Hybrid work flexibility within a collaborative, high-trust environment
  • Opportunity to influence the financial direction of a company targeting substantial growth
  • Direct exposure to ownership and strategic business decisions
  • Leadership responsibility with the ability to develop and strengthen an accounting team
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package

If you're ready to take on a highly visible role where your work directly impacts the future of the organization, we welcome a confidential conversation to explore fit.
