We're searching for a talented and driven Controller to join our Service Company.

Your Day-to-Day:

Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Own the full accounting cycle: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and month-end/year-end close for our Service Company.
• Prepare accurate, timely financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for ownership review
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and the chart of accounts

Job Costing & Data Analysis

• Maintain job costing and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting across our service jobs
• Prepare, review and post WO revenue and cost accruals
• Analyze job profitability by comparing estimated vs. actual costs, and flag variances early
• Build and maintain dashboards (Power BI) giving operations real-time visibility into job margins, cash position, and other KPIs
• Turn raw job and labor data into decision-ready metrics — job profitability, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, AR aging

Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Management

• Lead annual budgeting and maintain rolling forecasts
• Work with and support operations with monthly revenue/gross profit forecasting
• Support scenario/what-if modeling for ownership decision-making

Compliance & Internal Controls

• Coordinate with the external CPA/tax preparer and insurance/bonding agents
• Support internal and external audits related to company financials

Collaboration & Communication

• Partner with ownership, field service managers, and project managers to review financial performance
• Provide financial data and reporting to leadership as requested
• Translate financial and job-cost data into clear takeaways for non-financial stakeholders

What You'll Bring to the Table:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; prior experience in a service-based or field-service electrical business strongly preferred
• Advanced Excel skills: pivot tables, complex formulas, financial modeling, scenario/what-if analysis
• Proficiency with a BI/dashboard tool (Power BI)
• Comfortability creating/running reports with high quantities of data to meet various needs and requests.
• Hands-on experience with an accounting/ERP platform (Dynamics365).
• Experience with job costing/WIP accounting in a contractor or field-service environment
• Strong organizational skills and comfort working independently as an individual contributor
