The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SaaS and will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our financial management system. This includes financial analysis and planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will also work closely with our executive team to help make informed business decisions, manage risk, and ensure our company’s financial performance and growth.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
2. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
3. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
4. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
5. Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
6. Support month-end and year-end close process.
7. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
8. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
9. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
10. Collaborate with the executive team to understand and manage the financial aspects of strategic initiatives and business decisions.
11. Utilize SaaS platforms to streamline and automate financial management processes.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. CPA or CMA preferred.
3. Proven working experience as a Controller with 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
4. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
5. Experience with creating financial statements.
6. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
7. Experience with SaaS platforms in a financial management context.
8. Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
9. Solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
10. Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
11. Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and financial management software.
12. Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
13. Ability to manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
14. A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
15. Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
16. High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to quality.
17. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
18. Excellent problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
