Location: Spring Valley, NY
Compensation: $150,000 – $170,000 DOE

A well-established nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all financial operations and provide strong fiscal leadership. This hands-on role will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, audits, compliance, payroll oversight, and maintaining strong internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and general ledger activities.
• Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, government regulations, and funding requirements.
• Coordinate audits, tax filings, Form 990 preparation, and financial reporting.
• Oversee payroll processes and internal financial controls.
• Partner with executive leadership on financial planning and organizational strategy.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 7–10 years of accounting experience, including 3+ years of supervisory experience.
• Strong nonprofit and fund accounting experience required.
• CPA preferred.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
