Controller Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll oversight, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting
Assist with monthly financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP in partnership with parent company leadership
Oversee inventory accounting, cost accounting, and manufacturing margin analysis
Partner with operations leadership to improve production reporting, cost tracking, pricing analysis, and operational efficiency metrics
Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and departmental financial planning
Lead process improvement initiatives and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Assist with audits, tax support, and external reporting requirements
Support ERP and accounting system optimization efforts as the company continues to scale and modernize
Collaborate cross-functionally with HR and leadership on payroll, benefits, and operational initiatives
Participate in physical inventory counts and support manufacturing operations as needed
Controller Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
CPA highly preferred
6+ years of combined public and corporate accounting experience preferred
Experience within manufacturing, inventory-based, or production environments strongly preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and full-cycle accounting
Experience with cost accounting, inventory management, and operational finance analysis
ERP system experience required; QuickBooks and ERP implementation/transition experience highly preferred
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
Strong communication skills with the ability to partner with both financial and non-financial stakeholders
Ability to thrive in a hands-on environment and manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail
