Controller Position

Our client, a growing $50M manufacturing company in Tampa, Florida, is seeking a hands-on and results-driven Controller to lead their accounting operations. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will oversee the financial functions of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting processes. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, playing a critical part in the company's continued growth. Offering a hybrid work schedule of 3 days on site and 2 days remote, each week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
  • Manage and mentor the accounting team, including an Accounting Manager and two staff members responsible for AP/AR functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Direct and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain financial accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the CFO to provide financial insights, forecasts, and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Optimize accounting systems and processes for efficiency and scalability.
  • Oversee compliance with regulatory requirements and coordinate with external auditors as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles, preferably in manufacturing or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage a small accounting team, including mentoring and developing staff.
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, or similar).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a hands-on management style.
