Job Title: Controls Assembler (1st Shift)
Location: Archdale, NC 27263
Pay rate: $17.00/hr
Work schedule: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday. Candidates must be available for required overtime on Fridays as needed.
The Controls Assembler is responsible for loading and wiring industrial panels, installing panels into custom enclosures, executing structural cabinet/enclosure assembly, and managing all internal wiring and assembly mechanisms. This role ensures that every completed unit is fully built to specification and ready for the final testing phase. Working within a collaborative, quality-driven team environment, the assembler utilizes technical blueprints and a variety of hand tools to maintain high production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Panel Component Loading: Position, mount, and load various electrical components onto control panels according to technical drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Electrical Wiring: Execute precise point-to-point internal wiring of components and panels by strictly following electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Enclosure Integration & Assembly: Load completed, wired panels into structural enclosures, manage all internal electrical connections, and configure necessary external field connections. Assemble matching cabinets per drawing specifications when applicable.
Custom Configurations: Install specified customer options and secondary features as mandated by individual order drawings and production paperwork.
Quality Audits & Labeling: Verify the correct mechanical operation of all manual assemblies within the unit. Ensure all safety, warning, and instructional labels are properly applied before executing a final quality audit prior to the testing phase.
Documentation Verification: Audit incoming work orders and paperwork to ensure the team is building against the latest configuration revision.
Material Handling: Following proper training, safely operate an overhead crane to load heavy panels or maneuver large enclosures according to site safety protocols.
Workplace Safety & Collaboration: Work alongside team members to keep product moving forward on schedule while maintaining strict compliance with corporate safety rules and quality benchmarks.
Must Have Skills / Requirements
Wiring Experience: Direct, hands-on experience executing electrical or control panel wiring workflows.
Schematic Literacy: Proven ability to read, interpret, and build from complex mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics.
Production Literacy: Ability to read, comprehend, and follow English-language written work instructions, work orders, and complex Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with and ability to safely operate a wide variety of manual hand tools and power assembly tools.
Operational Commitment: Flexible mindset willing to work overtime hours as needed, backed by a strong personal attendance and performance record.
Education & Experience
Experience: Practical background in electrical assembly, panel building, or industrial manufacturing. Candidates must have successfully completed the standard corporate probationary period.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
