As a Controls Developer, you will architect, design, review, develop, validate and deploy technologies and systems for embedded controls on Altec products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline required.
• ABET EAC certified Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a Master's Degree in Engineering is required for engineering degrees.
• Internal candidates - Minimum of four (4) years Altec experience in a Controls Developer or engineering role, two (2) of which must be after earning the Bachelor's degree.
  • Applicable Masters counts as one (1) year of experience.
• External candidates - Minimum of four (4) years' experience in an applicable role after earning the Bachelor's degree.
  • Applicable Masters counts as one (1) year of experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated thorough understanding and ability in basic job practices and principles.
• Must effectively interact with other associates, departments, operations, distributors, vendors, customers, etc.
• Basic understanding of business principles and practice.
• Must be confident, dynamic, and successful in working as part of a team.
• Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time, potentially on short notice, which may include flying.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Designing and architecting software systems.
• Rapid proof-of-concept development.
• Clearly articulate complicated systems to senior leaders in a way that is accessible and easily to understand.
• Presentation development and public speaking.
• Training others on topics related to software and engineering.
• Excellent understanding of software development best practices.
• Excellent understanding of software testing best practices.
• Coordinate effectively with other development teams on cross-team projects to meet customer requirements and due dates.
• Champion a high-level business goal to completion on schedule and on budget.
• Communicate with customers on issues of technical specifications, product design and operation.
• Manage a team of development and engineering resources.
• Support Operations, Sales, and Service.
• Participate and contribute productively as part of Altec's team-oriented design, manufacture, and customer service/support efforts.
