    Controls Engineer

    Contract Length: Minimum 3 months (extensions likely)

    Travel: 100% Work Authorization: Must have right to work in the U.S.

     

    Position Overview

    We are hiring multiple Contract Commissioning Engineers to support large‑scale Amazon fulfillment and sortation projects across the U.S. These roles focus on commissioning, testing, validating, and troubleshooting MDR conveyor systems, safety systems, and associated control networks. Ideal candidates have hands‑on Amazon experience and are comfortable working in fast‑paced, travel‑intensive environments.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Commission, test, and validate MDR conveyor systems (24VDC motor‑driven roller).
    • Perform I/O checks, E‑Stop testing, safety device validation, and MDR control verification.
    • Configure and troubleshoot Ethernet/IP networks for MDR control cards and related devices.
    • Work with CANBus networks used in MDR control architectures.
    • Execute commissioning tasks on Intelligrated and Dematic MDR systems.
    • Support Dematic ECC MDR controls, ModSorts, and other Amazon‑standard material handling equipment.
    • Complete documentation, test forms, and verification reports according to Amazon commissioning standards.
    • Collaborate with onsite controls, mechanical, and operations teams to ensure system readiness.
    • Follow all OSHA, LOTO, and Amazon safety protocols.
    • Travel full‑time to project sites across the U.S. for the duration of the contract.

    Required Experience

    • Commissioning Experience: Minimum X years (candidate‑provided).
    • Amazon Experience: Required; minimum X years (candidate‑provided).
    • Hands‑on experience with:
      • 24VDC MDR conveyor systems
      • Intelligrated MDR controls
      • Dematic MDR controls
      • Dematic ECC
      • ModSort systems
      • Safety I/O and safety configuration
      • Ethernet/IP network setup
      • CANBus networks
      • Device‑level troubleshooting, I/O checkout, and system validation
    • Ability to complete detailed test documentation and follow structured commissioning forms.

    Education & Certifications

    • On‑the‑job training acceptable.
    • Amazon certifications (10+ preferred).
    • OSHA, LOTO, or equivalent safety training.

    Other Requirements

    • Must be available for project window: July 15 – October 15 (with extensions).
    • Willingness to travel 100%.
    • Valid U.S. work authorization (citizen, GC, or valid visa status).
    • Must provide home location (city/state) for travel coordination.
