Controls EngineerSpringdale, OH (Onsite)Full-Time | ExemptTravel: Up to 10% (typically 1–2 days per trip)Position OverviewWe're hiring a Controls Engineer to design, program, and support control systems for custom industrial equipment. This role is highly hands‑on and spans the full project lifecycle—from concept and build through startup and customer acceptance. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, machine integration, and seeing real‑world results of their work.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and program PLC & HMI systems (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens)Support electrical controls design (schematics, panel layouts, documentation)Debug, test, and support machines during build, runoff, and startupCollaborate with Engineering, PMs, Manufacturing, Electricians, and CustomersTroubleshoot controls issues in both manufacturing and field environmentsCreate BOMs and assist with component selectionResearch and implement new controls technologies and improvementsMust‑Have Qualifications2‑5 years of Controls Engineering experience (no new grads)Experience with PLC/HMI programming and industrial controls systemsStrong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAssociate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)Preferred ExperienceAllen‑Bradley and/or Siemens platformsCustom machinery or capital equipmentStartup, commissioning, or field service workExperience with AutoCAD Electrical (or similar)What Makes You SuccessfulSystems Thinker– understands how controls, mechanical, and electrical systems interactStrong Troubleshooter– logical and effective during debug/startupOwnership Mindset– accountable from design through customer acceptanceCollaborative Communicator– works well across teams and with customersAdaptable & Organized– handles shifting priorities while meeting deadlinesWork EnvironmentOffice‑based with regular time in the shop/manufacturing environment.
