This Controls Engineer position supports the design, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting of custom automation systems, robotic cells, and production equipment. This individual will work closely with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable, installation-ready machinery for highly regulated manufacturing environments

Description

This Controls Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Designing and developing control software for industrial automation equipment.
  • Programming and troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, machine vision systems, and industrial networks.
  • Supporting integration of robotic systems and automated production equipment.
  • Assisting with machine startup, commissioning, and onsite troubleshooting.
  • Diagnosing and resolving controls-related issues during production and field service activities.
  • Collaborating with engineering and fabrication teams during machine builds and installations.
  • Maintaining project documentation, revision control, and backup files.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives focused on performance and reliability.

Profile

A Successful Controls Engineer will have:

  • 2+ years of controls engineering or industrial automation experience.
  • Experience programming PLCs and HMIs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
  • Strong troubleshooting experience with automated machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Experience supporting machine startups and commissioning.
  • Experience with robotics, machine vision, motion control, and industrial networking preferred.
  • Beckhoff/TwinCAT experience highly preferred.
  • Ignition experience is a plus
