\nRole Description This is an on-site contract role for a Controls Engineer Manufacturing based in Southington, CT. The Controls Engineer will design, develop, and implement control systems for manufacturing equipment, including PLC programming, motion control integration, and automation solutions. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and troubleshooting control system issues, optimizing process control parameters, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support production goals and equipment upgrades. The role involves creating and maintaining electrical schematics, documentation, and standard operating procedures to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. The Controls Engineer will also participate in continuous improvement initiatives, support commissioning and start-up activities, and provide technical guidance to maintenance and operations personnel.
\nKey Responsibilities:
\n• Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving for equipment and machine control systems
\n• Design, program, modify, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, AC/DC Drives, Vision Systems, and Robot Controllers
\n• Develop and maintain P&IDs, wiring schematics, and I/O drawings
\n• Support equipment design, FAT, SAT, startup, commissioning, and validation
\n• Drive OEE improvement, scrap reduction, uptime, and manufacturing efficiency
\n• Perform root cause analysis and implement robust technical solutions
\n• Support continuous improvement and equipment lifecycle strategies
\n• Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams
\n• Maintain cGMP compliance and support qualification activities
\n• Provide technical leadership and training for equipment and control systems

\n• 4+ years of Controls Engineering experience
\n• Experience supporting manufacturing equipment and production operations
\n• Ability to independently analyze complex technical problems and develop solutions
