Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description

The primary role of a Controls Engineer is to design, develop, install, and maintain equipment used to monitor and control engineering systems and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Create and follow the electrical design schedule from specification concept to system completion, adhering to the overall project schedule.
  • Test, evaluate, modify, and calibrate products and instruments.
  • Analyze plant processes and design and implement improvements.
  • Troubleshoot issues with hardware and processes.
  • Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations to support design, including electrical requirements, robotic safety standards, and motor controls.
  • Ensure all safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor"s Degree in Engineering, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in controls engineering.
  • Control systems engineering knowledge.
  • 5+ years of on-the-floor controls troubleshooting experience (including pushing live updates to a PLC or an HMI).
  • Functional machine safety design, implementation, and integration is a plus.
  • Experience with CAT and project management/engineering is beneficial.
  • Equivalent experience in roles such as Controls/Automation Engineer.

Work Environment

The role is based in a foundry work environment. The team is responsible for capital projects and standardizing programming structure.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mapleton, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $46.00/hr.
