Our client, a leading automotive manufacturing company, is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team. As a Controls Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting Production, Maintenance, and Automation Teams. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Controls Engineer
Location: Detroit, MI
Pay Range: $45-$65/hour (based on experience)

What's the Job?
  • Provide direct production line support for PLC, CNC, and HMI control systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues impacting production uptime and KPIs
  • Design, implement, and optimize control systems for industrial equipment
  • Support system integration of sensors, actuators, and robotic logic (KUKA/automation systems)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives
What's Needed?
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in controls engineering or industrial automation
  • Strong experience with Siemens PLC programming and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of HMI systems and industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus)
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and debug complex automated systems
