We are seeking a skilled and motivated Controls Engineer to design, build, and install turnkey control systems. This role demands a self-reliant engineer with strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to tackle unique challenges across diverse industries, including automotive, chemical, manufacturing, food & beverage, pulp & paper, and wood products.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop electrical control panels for machines and automation systems.
Create and implement PLC and HMI programs tailored to project needs.
Ensure compliance with current safety standards in all designs and systems.
Commission and troubleshoot VFDs, motor controls, and servo motor applications.
Diagnose and resolve issues with industrial networks such as Ethernet/IP and Profinet.
Lead projects from inception to completion, including budget management, scheduling, and customer communication.
Oversee system installation and startup, ensuring operational excellence.
(Preferred) Program and integrate industrial robots, such as FANUC systems.
Interpret, modify, and develop mechanical and electrical drawings.
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in Engineeringis required; Electrical or Mechanical is preferred but will consider other related fields.
Proven expertise in PLC programming, with a preference for Allen Bradley/Rockwell and GE/Emerson platforms.
Hands-on experience with motor controls, including motor starters, VFDs, and DC drives.
Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24VDC systems.
Familiarity with troubleshooting and modifying HMI components, control network components, and automated equipment.
Proficiency in interpreting and developing technical drawings and schematics.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with industrial robotics programming (e.g., FANUC).
Background in vision systems and custom manufacturing equipment is a plus.
Travel Requirements:
Occasional travel is required (approximately 25%).
