Controls EngineerJob ID: CET-TNLocation: McEwen, TN areaPay: $90,000 up to $125,000 salary plus employee benefitsOverviewIn this position you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining industrial control systems for our diverse range of clients while working closely with project teams.ResponsibilitiesThis position will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining industrial control systems for our diverse range of clients while working closely with project teamsSupport the execution of automation, control systems, industrial robots, and various industrial projectsDevelop control systems that include, but are not limited to, electrical applications, pneumatics, hydraulic systems, and robotic programmingCollaborate with project managers, mechanical designers, and clients to understand requirements and develop comprehensive control system designsCollaborate with the design team to integrate safety features while ensuring compliance with OSHA and industry standardsCreate and review electrical schematics (AutoCAD Electrical), control panel layouts, and system architectureAdhere to industrial electrical standards, codes, and best practices throughout the design process as requiredStay abreast of industry advancements and changes in safety standards to continuously improve and update safety features in automation solutionsConduct safety risk assessment meetings and system testing with the design team and client(s) to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate safety measuresDocument and communicate safety design decisions, methodologies, project records, and validations in compliance with relevant safety standards, guidelines, and best practicesDevelop and implement PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) software for industrial automation systemsProgram and troubleshoot PLCs from various manufacturersWork with programmers to define mutually agreed upon best practices and expectations for codingProgram and integrate industrial robots of various manufacturersEnsure seamless communication and coordination between robots and other control devices, specifically PLCs and other auxiliary equipment as requiredSpecify, select, and configure instrumentation and control devices such as sensors, actuators, and other componentsEnsure compatibility and integration of control devices with the overall systemEnsure component selections are to clients' specifications and direct and timely communication to clients of any deviations when requiredMaintain up-to-date knowledge of new control technologies from vendors for the purpose of informing the machine design team of alternative ways of solving design challengesLead the integration of control systems and industrial robots into existing or new industrial processesAssist team with occasional field wiring/plumbing, panel building, conduit runs, and training to support overall project deadlines as necessaryPrepare detailed technical documentation, including user manuals, system manuals, and as-built documentationGenerate thorough Bill of Materials of purchase items required for each projectWork with vendors to generate quotes for necessary purchases for each projectProvide technical support during the installation and startup phases of projectsQualificationsMinimum of 3 years' experience designing and programming industrial controls systems, robotic controlsExperience in controls and automation for material handling and conveyor industry is preferredFamiliarity with building industrial control panelsFamiliarity with wiring including, but not limited to, layouts, labeling, and cable managementProficiency in AutoCAD Electrical ToolsetAbility to program PLCs and understand programming languages (program from scratch, ladder logic, structured text, etc)Experienced with programming and configuration on Rockwell Automation software; Rx Logix 5000, Rs Logix StudioExperienced with programming and configuration on Rockwell Automation controllers; ControlLogix, CompactLogixAbility to program and design HMI screens preferably with FactoryTalk View ME, View Designer, etcExperience with Servo motion controllersAbility to program robots, preferably 6-axis Fanuc robotsFamiliarity with plumbing, valves, and schematics, especially SMC product linesUnderstanding of industrial communication networks and protocols, Ethernet networks, and IP addressesStrong mathematic skills with the ability to understand physics, engineering, and statisticsExperience with pneumatic machinery is desirableProficiency in Microsoft Office applications and OutlookFamiliarity with Virtual MachinesFamiliarity with 3D CAD modeling and other PC programmingAbility to travel up to 25% of the time#J-18808-Ljbffr
