    Description

    Electrical Engineer II Electrical Engineer II is the Second working level of the engineering series. To provide electrical engineering support for production operations and the continuous improvement of machine and equipment controls.Responsibilities Acts as an electrical engineering resource to assist Maintenance Technicians troubleshoot machine control problems when additional resources, skills, or knowledge are required to solve the problem.Focal person to work with external technical resources, when necessary, to problem solve and implement solutions.Develops training documentation of solutions and safe procedures to communicate with all Maintenance Technicians.Manages machine and equipment upgrade projects including investigations, cost estimates, installations, and start-up. This can include expense type projects as well as capital upgrade projects.Learns new capital equipment operation, controls structure/design, and hardware in order to build knowledge and proficiency to support and implement effective maintenance.Assist Project Engineering with equipment installation, checkout, start-up and training as necessary.Secures, maintains, and applies knowledge of current industry practices for safe work practices and safe equipment operation. Examples are National and State Electrical codes and NFPA70E (arc flash) codes.Key resource for verifying and overseeing the completion of preventative maintenance on electrical substations and high voltage switchgear.
