DURATION: Until 12/31/26 with possible extension
PAY RANGE: $80 - $90/hr.

Job Description:
  • An experienced Controls Engineer to develop and optimize robot motion control systems through advanced controller tuning, with expertise in position and torque control.
  • The ideal candidate will establish robust testing frameworks, design automated validation routines, and implement standardized processes for controller performance evaluation.
  • Must demonstrate strong programming skills to create automated test suites, analyze system responses, and document testing methodologies.
  • Experience with real-time control systems, motion planning, and system identification is required, along with the ability to troubleshoot complex control issues through data-driven approaches.
  • Possible domestic travel in around 3 weeks.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Master s or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Controls, or a related field.
  • Strong foundation in classical controls, linear systems, and applied dynamics.
  • Experience developing and tuning control algorithms on physical hardware.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or similar tools for modeling and analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, embedded control systems, or robotic platforms.
