BlackRock Resources is seeking a Control Engineer for a growing manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, improving automation systems, and finding permanent solutions to recurring problems.
You’ll work directly with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, and Operations to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and keep automated manufacturing systems running safely and efficiently.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Troubleshoot electrical, controls, automation, PLC, HMI, and instrumentation issues
- Program, modify, back up, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, VFDs, servos, and industrial controls
- Support maintenance technicians during breakdowns and help reduce mean time to repair
- Develop controls upgrades and automation improvements that increase reliability, safety, quality, and efficiency
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring failures
- Support installation, commissioning, relocation, and start-up of new and modified equipment
- Maintain electrical schematics, PLC programs, network diagrams, control narratives, and technical documentation
- Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance technicians and operators
- Work with vendors, contractors, OEMs, and internal teams on controls and equipment projects
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of industrial controls, automation, electrical maintenance, or manufacturing maintenance experience
- Hands-on PLC and HMI troubleshooting and programming experience
- Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, VFDs, servos, sensors, instrumentation, and machine safety systems
- Ability to read electrical schematics, control drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of LOTO, arc flash, electrical safety, and OSHA/industry safety requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field preferred. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
