A growing organization is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and service of advanced electrical control systems for OEM equipment used in global manufacturing environments. This role involves PLC and HMI programming, electrical controls troubleshooting, system support, and collaboration with internal teams and customer sites to ensure equipment is operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with required standards.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of industrial control systems, hands-on experience with Rockwell and Siemens platforms, and the ability to support equipment both remotely and onsite at manufacturing facilities.
Support the installation, startup, commissioning, and service of OEM equipment at manufacturing facilities, both remotely and onsite.
Provide technical support for electrical control systems, PLCs, HMIs, industrial networks, and related automation equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues involving OEM equipment, electrical panels, sensors, drives, PLC logic, HMI screens, and communication networks.
Develop, modify, and support PLC and HMI programs to meet equipment and customer requirements.
Collaborate with engineering, service, project management, production, and customer teams to support successful equipment launches and ongoing system performance.
Interface with internal departments to ensure control systems comply with customer controls policies, specifications, and standards.
Review system performance, identify root causes of issues, and recommend corrective actions or improvements.
Maintain accurate documentation related to programming changes, troubleshooting activity, service support, and system updates.
Adhere to all company, customer, and site-specific safety protocols and procedures.
Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related technical field required.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
3–5 years of relevant experience in controls engineering, automation, industrial electrical systems, or IT/OT systems support.
Experience supporting OEM equipment, automation systems, or manufacturing environments preferred.
Experience working with international teams, global customer sites, or remote technical support is a plus.
Strong communication, troubleshooting, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across engineering, service, and customer-facing teams.
Ability to travel to customer or manufacturing sites as needed.
Strong understanding of control system design, implementation, troubleshooting, and support within manufacturing environments.
Experience troubleshooting electrical and electronic control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, I/O, safety circuits, drives, and communication issues.
Experience programming and troubleshooting Rockwell Automation Logix PLCs, including ControlLogix and CompactLogix platforms.
Proficiency with Rockwell HMI platforms, including PanelView Plus, PanelView Plus CE, FactoryTalk View ME, and FactoryTalk View SE.
Experience programming and troubleshooting Siemens S7 PLCs and TIA Portal.
Basic understanding of Ethernet-based industrial networks, communication architectures, and common industrial protocols.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control panel drawings, ladder logic, and technical documentation.
Familiarity with OEM equipment startup, commissioning, field service, and customer support processes preferred.
