Controls Engineer (PLC / Instrumentation)Boise, ID 83707$50.48 – $62.50/hr Overview Seeking a Controls Engineer with Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) experience to support high-tech semiconductor facility projects. This role focuses on tool installation, PLC systems, and facility control systems within a fast-paced advanced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Provide engineering oversight during installation of semiconductor manufacturing equipment Review and support PLC, instrumentation, and control system designs Work with systems including: Fire alarm systems Chemical control systems Toxic Gas Monitoring (TGM) systems Develop and review technical specifications and design documents Review vendor submittals for compliance with project requirements and codes Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors Support final system integration and installation activities Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (ABET preferred) 5+ years of experience with industrial control systems / PLCs Experience with instrumentation, controls, and system integration Knowledge of: IFC (International Fire Code) IMC (International Mechanical Code) UL and IEEE standards Experience reviewing technical designs and vendor documentation Strong communication and coordination skills Preferred EIT or PE license Experience in semiconductor or cleanroom environments Field experience working with construction teams or subcontractors Familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit Experience with facility systems, process controls, or TGM systems
