Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to design, program, and commission complex automated systems. This role plays a critical part in delivering custom automation solutions from concept through installation and startup at customer sites. The ideal candidate brings strong Allen Bradley PLC expertise, a solid background in industrial automation, and the flexibility to travel extensively to support system integration and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop control systems architecture for custom automated equipment.
  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot Allen Bradley (Rockwell) PLCs and related hardware.
  • Develop HMI applications, motion control solutions, and network configurations.
  • Interpret electrical schematics and ensure proper panel design and field wiring integration.
  • Support system debug, validation, and commissioning activities both in-house and at customer facilities.
  • Travel to customer sites for installation, startup, troubleshooting, and technical support.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers, project managers, and customers to ensure systems meet functional and performance requirements.
  • Provide technical documentation including control narratives, I/O lists, and test procedures.
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives and standardization efforts.

Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum six (6) years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering.
  • Strong proficiency with Allen Bradley PLC platforms (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Studio 5000).
  • Experience with HMI development and industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control panel layouts.
