Role Description The Controls Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Wilmington, NC. This position is responsible for designing, programming, and integrating control systems for injection molding and related manufacturing equipment. Day-to-day tasks include developing and implementing process control strategies, configuring motion control and robotics components, and collaborating with mechanical and electrical teams to ensure seamless system operation. The Controls Engineer will diagnose and troubleshoot control system issues, optimize equipment performance, and support testing, commissioning, and documentation of control solutions. The role also involves contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and supporting new product and technology development.\n

- Candidates should possess strong Process Control skills, including control system design, implementation, and optimization.

- Candidates should possess Electrical Engineering skills, including familiarity with control circuits, PLCs, sensors, and industrial automation hardware.

- Candidates should possess Troubleshooting skills, including diagnosing, analyzing, and resolving control and electrical issues in complex machinery.

- Candidates should possess Motion Control skills, including experience with servos, drives, and coordinated multi-axis motion systems.

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

- Experience with PLC and HMI programming (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens, or similar platforms) and industrial communication protocols.

- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation, and to work safely with industrial equipment.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team.

- Prior experience in plastics, injection molding, or heavy industrial machinery is beneficial but not required.
