Controls Engineering Manager – Winchester, VA $118k
Seeking a Controls Engineering Manager in Winchester, VA to lead automation initiatives. The role manages engineers across projects, directs control system development, and requires both technical skill and leadership experience. Will work with engineering, IT/OT, and operations teams to provide automation solutions that can scale effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of controls engineers.
  • Oversee design, development, and implementation of automation and control systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system integration.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets.
  • Ensure standardization and best practices in controls engineering.
  • Troubleshoot complex automation issues.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies for improved performance and efficiency.
  • Manage vendor relationships and support system upgrades.
  • Balance strategic planning with hands-on project support as needed.

Preferred Skills and Quali cations

  • 5+ years of experience as a senior-level controls engineer in the automation field
  • Extensive project management and leadership experience with controls engineering technologies, IT/OT environments, and automation software
  • Strong knowledge of Rockwell Automation, Siemens, and/or Schneider industrial PLC platforms
  • Experience with project, fiscal and personnel management
  • Good understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Hands-on experience with both front-end and back-end development concepts within automation environments
  • Ability to optimize resources and drive efficiency across multiple projects
  • Excellentcommunicationandstakeholdermanagementskills

Licenses /Certi cations
BSc/MSc in Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant preferred.
