The Controls Installer will assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and HVAC systems under the guidance of experienced technicians.This entry-level position provides hands-on training and foundational experience to help you advance within the field.What You'll DoControls & HVAC InstallationAssist in the installation of refrigerant piping and condensate piping, including cutting, bending, hangers/supports, and connecting pipesAssist with low-voltage wiring on VRF systems and BAS systemsSupport the installation of HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including compressors, condensers, and evaporatorsAssist in performing pressure and vacuum tests to ensure the integrity of piping systemsSupport the detection and repair of leaks using appropriate testing equipment and methodsSafety & ComplianceAdhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing tasksEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding refrigerant handling and environmental protectionProperly use and maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working conditionUse required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all timesTraining & DevelopmentActively participate in on-the-job training and attend assigned classes or workshopsStay updated with industry standards and advancements in HVAC technologyDevelop hands-on knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, VRF, and Building Automation systemsDocumentation & SupportAssist with inventory management of tools, materials, and suppliesAssist in maintaining accurate records of work performed, including service reports and equipment logsReport issues or concerns to the supervising technician promptlyEnsure follow-up activities are completed as requiredPerform other duties as assignedWhat We're Looking ForHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredEnrollment in or completion of a relevant HVAC or refrigeration training program preferredBasic understanding of HVAC and refrigeration systemsAbility to read and interpret technical manuals and schematicsBasic mechanical skills and ability to use hand and power toolsStrong attention to detail and willingness to learnGood communication and teamwork skillsProblem-solving skills and ability to follow instructions accuratelyGood physical condition and ability to lift heavy equipmentValid driver's license and reliable transportationWillingness to work in varying conditions, including extreme temperatures, confined spaces, or at heightsUse of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatoryWhat We Offer$20–$25 per hour, based on experience and qualificationsComprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time offOpportunities for professional development and advancement within the Controls DivisionSupportive, collaborative, and forward-thinking work environmentReady to Grow With VMG?If you're ready to start or advance your career in HVAC and Controls installation and want to develop your skills with a growing company, we'd love to hear from you.
