Now Hiring: Controls Technician

Auburn Hills, MI (On-site)

Contract to Direct | Full Time

PTO + Benefits begin on day 1

$35-$45 per hour


A manufacturing facility in Auburn Hills is seeking a hands-on Controls Technician for a 2nd shift opportunity. The Controls Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of production equipment including robotics, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyor systems. This is a full-time opportunity with strong potential for direct hire.


As a Controls Technician, you will:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment using HMI/PLC systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
  • Work with robots, assembly cells, and conveyor systems.
  • Utilize robotic and PLC programming experience for diagnostics and repair.
  • Respond to last-minute and required overtime as needed.
  • Bring and use your own set of tools.


The ideal Controls Technician will have:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Advanced technical training in electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLCs — or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred).
  • Experience with Fanuc and/or ABB robotics, Siemens Step 5 / Step 7, and vision inspection systems (preferred).
  • A proactive attitude and strong problem-solving skills.
