Description
We are hiring an experienced Controls Technician to support the installation, startup, commissioning, and service of commercial HVAC controls and building automation systems. This is a field-based role working on a variety of commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with DDC controls, low-voltage systems, and HVAC equipment, and enjoys troubleshooting complex control systems while working closely with project managers, programmers, and field personnel to deliver successful projects.
Responsibilities
Install, commission, and troubleshoot building automation and HVAC control systems.
Perform controller setup, point-to-point verification, wiring checks, and system startups.
Read and interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, sequences of operation, and project documentation.
Install and service DDC controllers, sensors, actuators, valves, dampers, and other control devices.
Diagnose wiring, communication, programming, and equipment-related issues.
Assist with functional testing, system verification, and customer training.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, programmers, contractors, and other field personnel.
Complete service reports, startup documentation, and project records accurately.
Communicate professionally with customers and team members throughout project execution.
Follow all company safety procedures and jobsite requirements.
Requirements
Experience with HVAC controls, building automation systems (BAS), DDC controls, or low-voltage control systems.
Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings.
Working knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment and control applications.
Experience commissioning or servicing building automation systems is preferred.
Strong troubleshooting skills involving controls, wiring, communication networks, and HVAC equipment.
Ability to work independently in the field while collaborating with project teams.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to regional project sites.
