We are looking for an experienced Controls Technician to support commercial, industrial, and municipal HVAC controls and building automation projects across the Gulf Coast region.
This is a hands-on field position for someone who understands how HVAC control systems are installed, started up, commissioned, and troubleshot in real-world jobsite environments. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with low-voltage wiring, DDC controls, BAS systems, control drawings, field devices, and commercial HVAC equipment.
This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys technical troubleshooting, working directly with project teams, and helping ensure building automation systems are installed correctly and operating as intended.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and commission building automation and HVAC control systems
- Perform point-to-point checkout, controller setup, wiring verification, and system startup
- Read and interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, sequences of operation, and project documentation
- Support DDC controls, BAS integration, sensors, actuators, valves, dampers, and related control devices
- Diagnose communication, wiring, programming, equipment, and system-performance issues
- Coordinate with project managers, programmers, engineers, contractors, and field teams
- Assist with system testing, functional verification, and owner training as needed
- Maintain accurate service notes, startup documentation, and project records
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and internal team members
- Follow company safety standards and jobsite requirements
Requirements
- Experience with HVAC controls, building automation, DDC controls, or low-voltage systems preferred
- Ability to read control drawings, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operation
- Understanding of commercial HVAC equipment and control applications
- Experience with BAS platforms, controllers, sensors, actuators, and field devices preferred
- Strong troubleshooting skills for wiring, communication, controls, and system issues
- Comfortable working in the field on active commercial, industrial, and municipal projects
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
- Local to the Mobile, AL or Dothan, AL area, or able to reliably commute to project sites
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
