Sign-On Bonus and Relocation Available
This position is eligible for a $4,000 sign-on bonus; 50% paid after 30 days and 50% paid after 6 months of employment. In addition, candidates relocating from more than 50 miles from Louisville, CO facility are eligible for a $5,000 relocation bonus to help cover moving expenses. Employees must remain employed for 12 months to retain the relocation bonus.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Controls & Electrical Testing Technician plays a critical role in ensuring industrial equipment is safe, functional, and ready for customer delivery. In this hands-on position, you will perform electrical and controls testing, troubleshoot system issues, verify equipment performance, and support the final quality validation of custom-engineered systems before shipment and startup.
Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams, you will evaluate control panels, PLCs, motor controls, instrumentation, drives, and mechanical systems to confirm they meet design specifications and operational requirements. You will identify and resolve issues, document test results, and help ensure customers receive reliable, high-quality equipment that performs as intended.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy problem-solving, electrical troubleshooting, and working directly with industrial automation and control systems in a manufacturing or testing environment.
What You Will Do (Essential Functions):
Electrical Testing
• Perform functional testing on industrial electrical equipment from 24VDC through 480VAC
• Conduct electrical verification and quality inspections prior to equipment release
• Perform continuity, voltage, resistance, insulation resistance, and functional testing
• Utilize electrical test equipment including fluke multimeters, insulation resistance testers (Meggers), Hi-Pot testers, clamp meters, process instrumentation/calibration tools
• Verify proper operation of PLC-controlled equipment, VFDs, motor control systems, control panels, power distribution equipment, and instrumentation devices
Controls & Troubleshooting
• Troubleshoot PLC, VFD, power, and control systems
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical system issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
• Verify proper operation of relays, contactors, sensors, actuators, and control devices
Quality Control & Documentation
• Complete inspection, testing, and documentation
• Perform QC hold-point inspections and verify manufacturing quality standards
• Identify and document non-conformances
• Support corrective actions and root-cause investigations
• Ensure testing records are complete and accurate
Drawings & Schematics
• Read and interpret, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control diagrams, P&IDs, mechanical drawings, manufacturing prints
• Compare equipment builds to engineering documentation and specifications
Safety & Compliance
• Follow all company safety procedures and standards
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and company requirements
• Use appropriate PPE when performing electrical testing activities
• Support a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Travel
• Travel periodically to manufacturing facilities to:
• Perform quality audits
• Conduct inspections
• Support commissioning activities
• Deliver training and technical support

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk and hear. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. regularly is required. Must be able to stand/walk 90% of the time and sit 10% of the time. Requires the ability to work from heights while utilizing the appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for each situation.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with an uncontrolled atmosphere. Exposure to harsh conditions—such as dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures—for short periods is possible. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.
