Converting Machine Operator (Night Shift)

Location: Arlington, TX

Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM

Schedule: 2-2-3 Rotating Schedule

Pay: Competitive pay based on experience

Sign-On Bonus: Up to $2,500

Pregis is seeking an experienced Converting Machine Operator to join our Arlington manufacturing team. This role is responsible for operating converting and finishing equipment while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3-5+ years of manufacturing, converting, printing, packaging, or related production experience
• Experience operating production equipment in a manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, production specifications, and job tickets
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to safety and continuous improvement

Preferred Experience

• Converting operations
• Flexible packaging manufacturing
• Printing or flexographic printing
• Film or label manufacturing
• Web handling systems and print registration
• Machine setup, changeovers, and equipment troubleshooting

Position Summary

As a Converting Machine Operator, you will set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot converting and finishing equipment to safely produce high-quality packaging products that meet customer and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate converting and finishing equipment with minimal supervision
• Review job specifications and verify materials before production begins
• Monitor machine performance, product quality, and production output
• Maintain established productivity, waste, and quality standards
• Operate and adjust ancillary equipment including gluers, label applicators, rotary cutters, splicers, and register systems
• Perform machine setup activities, changeovers, and line adjustments
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor mechanical repairs as needed
• Accurately record production data, materials usage, waste, and downtime
• Support process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce waste
• Train team members and support production goals as needed
• Follow all safety procedures, SOPs, and PPE requirements
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts around moving production equipment
