Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable Conveyor Belt Maintenance Technician to join an industrial maintenance team in Oklahoma City. This position is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining conveyor belt systems to ensure reliable operation and minimize production downtime.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience working with industrial equipment, and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in a fast-paced production environment.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous industrial maintenance or mechanical experience preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
Familiarity with conveyor belt systems and material-handling equipment preferred
Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
Strong attention to detail and equipment condition
Ability to respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and production needs
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Reliable attendance and commitment to workplace safety
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct routine inspections of conveyor belt systems to identify wear, damage, or potential equipment failures
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems affecting conveyor performance
Repair, replace, and adjust conveyor components including belts, rollers, pulleys, motors, and bearings
Perform belt alignment and make adjustments to maintain proper conveyor operation
Complete scheduled preventive maintenance on conveyor systems and related equipment
Lubricate components, tighten hardware, and replace worn parts before equipment failures occur
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and conveyor breakdowns
Work to minimize equipment downtime and restore production operations quickly
Maintain accurate inspection reports, repair logs, and maintenance documentation
Monitor parts and maintenance supplies needed for conveyor repairs
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work area
Follow all company safety procedures and equipment maintenance requirements
Preventive Maintenance Responsibilities
Perform scheduled conveyor inspections and maintenance
Lubricate bearings, rollers, and other applicable components
Check and correct belt alignment and tension
Inspect motors, pulleys, rollers, and bearings for wear
Tighten bolts and hardware as required
Identify components approaching failure and recommend replacement
Maintain accurate preventive maintenance records
Team & Operational Support
Collaborate with maintenance personnel and production employees to coordinate repairs
Communicate equipment concerns and maintenance needs to appropriate personnel
Work with equipment suppliers when necessary to support repairs and replacement parts
Provide guidance to operators regarding proper conveyor operation and basic maintenance procedures
Support safety training and proper equipment operating practices
Identify opportunities to improve conveyor reliability, efficiency, and maintenance procedures
Preferred Qualifications
Previous conveyor belt maintenance experience
Industrial maintenance or manufacturing experience
Experience replacing belts, rollers, pulleys, bearings, or motors
Mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting experience
Preventive maintenance experience
Experience working with industrial material-handling systems
Strong equipment troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and equipment access
Ability to safely use maintenance tools and equipment while wearing required PPE
Comfortable performing hands-on repairs around conveyor systems and industrial machinery
Ability to respond to equipment breakdowns and physically demanding maintenance situations as needed
