Summary

Reporting to the University Registrar, the Conviser Student Center Assistant provides customer service to Illinois Tech students for the administrative departments primarily focused on students in the Conviser center, including the Office of the Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Accounting, and Academic Affairs.
Responsibilities

Qualifications

Education & Experience
---------------------
- Bachelor's degree
- Two years of administrative office experience or similar role in higher education or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge & Skills
-----------------
- Proficiency with Banner is highly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required
- Excellent critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and practice of essential student records protocol including adherence to FERPA regulations and is preferred

Customer Service
--------------
This position provides customer service to staff, students, faculty, administration, various representatives of other institutions, and the public daily. This position must also relay timely and accurate academic and student record data in accordance with FERPA and university policy to university constituents and the public as needed, providing appropriate referrals to other resources, or escalating issues as needed.
The Convisser Student Center Assistant will collect and relay concise and unambiguous information to assess and resolve issues through various channels.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

- Provide student support and service for the registrar
- Provide student support services presented to the ticket request system, via telephone, in person or online as they relate to obtaining academic credentials, course registration, classroom needs and other inquiries.
- Process program and academic record changes as assigned by the registrar.
- Provide support for Student Financial Services:
- Triage questions for FAFSA completion, financial aid offers and requirements, billing statements and deadlines, and other front line general inquiries.
- Provide guidance on University policies and procedures to students, faculty and staff.
- General office tasks including:
- Document and maintain records of student interactions as required.
- Compile and provide metrics as it relates to student services and records.
- Ensure production quality of student documentation.
- Assist students in booking appointments with various departments to ensure support need met
