Schedule/Hours: Days/hours vary; (28 hours per week)

This position is responsible for:

Prepares, cooks and serves nutritional meals and snacks in accordance with established guidelines and schedules. Ensuring meals are prepared and served in a safe and presentable manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assists in preparation of meals. Stores, refrigerates, and freezes foods in a safe manner
• Cleans dining area. Cleans kitchen facilities and equipment. Maintains high degree of cleanliness in kitchen and dining area
• Maintain inventory of kitchen food and supplies to meet needs of kitchen. Receive donated goods and processes gifts-in-kind documentation.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in a normal kitchen environment where there may be limited physical discomforts associated with working around hot stoves/ovens or cold freezers.
• Ability to lift objects weighing 25-50 pounds on a frequent basis.
• Ability to cook, taste, and smell food
• Duties are usually performed by frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting.

Licenses and Certifications:

• State-Issued Food Handling Certification
• Serv-Safe Certification (or ability to become certified)
• Valid State Drivers License
