The Cook will prepare and serve meals for summer camps and rental groups. Manage the meal program in the absence of the Food Services Supervisor.

About the role:

• Plan, prepare, and serve meals in conjunction with Food Services Supervisor.
• Maintain a sanitary work environment.
• Monitor donations and other food and non-food inventory.
• Help create and maintain a comfortable and respectful environment for guests.
• Clean and properly arrange the freezer, cooler, and pantry on a weekly basis.
• Under the direction of the Food Services Manager, report meal counts for the Summer Food Service Program.
• Provide seasonal support as requested.
• Be available to work nights and weekends.
• Other duties as assigned by the Corps Officers.

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

Certifications:

• Must have completed the Restaurant ServSafe Certification program or will complete within six (6) months of hire.
• Must have a valid drivers license and pass MVR requirements for Salvation Army insurance.

Experience:

• One year food service experience.

Skills:

• Ability to relate to individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds.
• Ability to be a self-starter; can work independently.
