Position: Cook

Status: Full-Time

Mileage Stipend: Up to $100 per paycheck for eligible employees

What You’ll Do
As a Cook, you will help prepare meals and maintain high-quality food production standards.
Responsibilities include:
• Preparing meals for residents, guests, and employees
• Baking desserts, rolls, and preparing salads and special items
• Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and serving areas
• Checking food quality, temperature, and appearance
• Properly labeling, storing, and rotating food
• Planning appropriate use of leftovers within required guidelines
• Requisitioning and storing food and supplies
• Timing and coordinating meal preparation

Qualifications
• Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions
2–3 years of quantity food preparation experience preferred
• Knowledge of food preparation methods and cooking temperatures
Texas Food Service Manager Certification (or ability to obtain) through the Texas Department of State Health Services
